And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

BBQ this evening, and a Black Manhattan to go with it. John Wick for the movie tonight.
I make Black Manhattans often. I find that an Amarena cherry works better than your standard Luxardo cherry. Luxardo cherries are great, and far superior to the crap that Maraschino cherries have become, but a sour Amareno cherry works even better. I've experimented with different Amaros, but Averna is still the best I've found for this drink.
