Abbey's Country

  1. Up until you posted one of Edward Abby's books here (maybe) a year ago, I had never heard of him or his books. Since then, I have read about five or six of the 20+ books that he authored. I really - really like his writing.

And I have also mentioned him to (maybe) two dozen folks. I am still surprised at how many know him and have read many of his wonderful novels and non-fiction books.

    1. That is the horseshoe on the Colo. River, down from Lake Powell, up from Lee's Ferry.
The area is very much worth visiting.

    2. The horseshoe takes 10 mins. Really only a few slot canyon tours besides it. Ended up impromptu drive on to monument park (also done in less than a day) and finished with Grand Canyon. Gc was best of the three.

  5. Abbey was a dick. (I grew up in the area and he triggered much of the crap we are dealing with in the rural west, even today.)
