And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Back 50+ years ago we used to call 'em Blue Blazers and you had to down them without putting the flame out. Since moustaches were popular at the time it was a fun exercise to watch especially when the dude was on his 8th or 9th
Back when I was in my early 20s, it was a "thing" to light a shot glass of rum and knock it back. We called the drink a "Flaming Hooker."
My roommate tried it with 151 Rum. Perhaps because he was nervous, he missed with at least some of the rum. The burning liquid left him with redness, but no scarring, around his mouth for maybe six months. His discoloration did not exactly produce a clown face, but it definitely made him look a bit different.

ReplyDeleteI saw a man being horribly burned by an alcohol fire. The flame is not very visible but sure is hot.
