And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If NorCal can have half as nice a winter as last year I'll be tickled. Abundant rain and snowfall, an unusually cool spring and early summer, not too many days over 100, all equally distributed into short hot spells. It was one to remember, and the best one in my multi-decade memory.
And best of all, it's been a very mild wildfire season. Knock wood.

Escaped last year for I think the first time in my life, and some of that time was in England and Virginia.
