And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Another oddity of the English language. What's the non-gender specific singular for "cattle"? It's "ox". A lot of people these days don't know that "cow" is specifically a female. - Mr. Mayo
"Cattle can only be used in the plural and not in the singular: it is a plurale tantum (i.e. a noun that only occurs in the plural). Thus one may refer to "three cattle" or "some cattle", but not "one cattle". No universally used singular form in modern English of "cattle" exists, other than the sex- and age-specific terms."
The ecologists have figured out that our bison are much better for North America, but, since they don't work well with cowboys and fences, we get the poor replacements. You would think there wouldn't be any real difference, but they say it is significant.
And more sheep than people in all 50....
ReplyDeleteIn Maryland, the sheep are the people.
DeleteDelaware also. All the illegals should be forced into Delaware because of the POS they sent to congress for 50 years.

DeleteMy question is, who is going around coloring all those cows blue?
ReplyDeleteThere are more horse's asses than horses in the states colored yellow.
ReplyDeleteJust saying.
Used to be the case in Vt until all the Libs moved out of Boston and NYC, now there's more health food stores.
ReplyDeleteThere were 70 million bison roaming the N American Great Plains at one time. Globull warming must have been off the charts.
ReplyDeleteThat, Sir, is an inconvenient truth.
DeleteThought of that when recently read about how there are more cows now than 200 years ago, but the Bison population just got replaced

DeleteAs a dairy farmer I can tell you there is NO gender confusion in those states, at least by the cows!
ReplyDeleteCould probably make a similar map, colored to show steers and queers.
