And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Nice Friday collection again! #2 is the Oregon dunes out by the coast. #10 the race car - anyone know where that is? #11 is a boardwalk in Ireland according to google, I'd like to see that! #12 the gas tank under the license plate...it's been a log time since I've seen one of those! #14 is a trail cam shot from way back that shows the Vikings explored all the way to Niagara Falls and explains why they never talked about it... #17 is a monastery in Greece (google) that looks like it's been there for a long time, I'd like to go see that too...
I had an '82 Caprice that had the gas cap behind the plate. That was a nice car, big comfortable bench seat in front, outside air vents, huge trunk. A cruiser.
#7 is a clip from "Whistle and I'll Come to You". Dramatization of an MR James story by BBC. That's the actor Michael Hordern. DTW is my first stop for Open Road Friday.
That gal in Larry Larry's favorite picture (the one with the dog) looks like she must have been the star of her high school basketball team. She barely fits in that pickup!
Nice Friday collection again!

ReplyDeleteGTX!!! Had a HS friend that was given a 440 Magnum for his 17th birthday in '69. He ran it to 125 before backing down. I was scared as s**t.
ReplyDeleteGTX, the luxury Road Runner. 68'-69', 426 HEMI, were the best!
DeleteBoy, that gas cap behind the license plate sure brought back memories of working at McCain's Chevron in the late sixties.
