  3. I count three snow covered, a fourth ready to go, a fifth in the shadow of the rock. The horror of being the last to go, hope against hope that somehow rescue would come in time, but knowing its a futile imagination. Yet the essence of humanity lies in hope. To let go is to die, to become nothing. To linger is to prolong the suffering. Time spent uttering silent, furtive goodbyes. Carousing through the memories of your life.
