And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It will get you there, just hope it doesn't rain on the way.
45 - ha ha, downhill with a helluva shimmy trying to steer you off the road and kill you. 35 is about it, even with the add-on snubber that I don't see on this one. And the full top enclosure doesn't really help with the rain. It just directs it all into a few locations. And don't forget the wonderful engine vacuum wipers that only move when you goose it - luckily they come with handles inside so you can clear the windshield once-in-a-while.
Civilian model originally - it has signal lights under the headlights. Wish I had that winch on mine....
Same with the M151’s My last posting was in 83, Santa Anna. That’s when the hail storm took out Huntington pier. I pulled duty driving around as a quick response rescue vehicle in M151 with the top and windscreen removed. Thankful for the helmet and flack vest as some protection from the hail.
Two of my brothers drove home from trout camp in my brother's Jeep; much newer model; in a driving rainstorm without the benefit of his hardtop, which was back in town. They wore their waders and rain jackets. A memorable ride of 180 miles, raining all the way, to be sure.
That’s what the poncho was for! My brother and I sent away for the “keep in a box” when we were young. Didn’t tell Dad. Nothing came, turned out to be a scam. There are thousands of these sitting on in the sun at our base in Guam.
at about 45 mph

That's no lie about the shimmy. And don't count on the brakes for nothing.
ReplyDeleteI'd be so happy I wouldn't notice the rain. Been wet before.
ReplyDeleteI just tell the complainers," It's the same stuff that comes out of the shower head".

MF
People who drive these tend to not worry about the weather.
ReplyDeleteAn MB doesn't care if it rains. Neither does any other flattie. The people who drive them don't care much, either.
