Colorado just passed a Law against that- Manufacturers cannot withhold Maintenance Data (Including Computer Diagnostics) and those "Exclusive" Maintenance Contracts are Illegal. Now, wait for it, the Company will Deny Warranty to anyone who Works on their own stuff.
