And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
We've got a falls like that down near the family ranch. A few years back some young guys were shooting the falls in kayaks until one of them broke a leg. The local fire department had a heck of a time rescuing the guy as he ended up on the far side of the raging creek and they had to figure out how to get him back across to their vehicles. I later talked to the chief and shaking his head he said the group were all paramedics from Reno. When I asked him if his department would get reimbursed for their time and trouble he replied "Probably not".

The trick is to make sure you are pointed forward before going over.
