John and Joe Jr. were actual war heroes. Joe was a Navy pilot who was killed in combat in Europe. John commanded a PT boat in the Solomons at the height of the Guadalcanal battle, and was seriously injured when his boat got run over.
John was killed by CIA/ FBI/Secret Service/Pentagon denizens, because he had ordered the first withdrawals from Viet Nam, sought peace with the USSR, sought to normalize relations with Cuba, and planned to dismantle the CIA.
Robert was killed for much the same reasons, and the fact he was going to hunt down his brother's murderers.
John would have been a very good President. He was inspirational, and he called Americans to live their highest ideals.
Robert would have been a great President, again inspiring, idealist, honest.
I was 20 when John was killed. It still hurts. RFK, Jr., has the Kennedy charisma. He also promises to dig up and reveal who the killers of his father and uncle are/were. If he can get on the ballot I will vote for him, regardless of his leftist ideology. I want vengeance.
Go listen to his announcement of his candidacy in Boston a few weeks ago. Almost two hour of inspiring speech, without notes or Teleprompters. He is a 60's liberal (not marxist), and would govern as a liberal, but he is also a populist who would oppose our corrupt Ruling Cast. If he gets close, they will likely kill him. That would end this country.
Most of the debauched, depraved Kennedy haters like to point to Ted Kennedy, who was just as debauched and depraved as the haters. In fact, most of the haters never heard either JKF or RFK and have no idea of who they were. I saw and heard both. The coup d'état that killed also destroyed any legitimacy the federal government had, and gave us endless wars and destroyed our economy. In 1960, a working man could support a wife and five kids, own a house and a used car all on his wages. Now two people working can barely support themselves.
On learning of King's murder in Memphis, Robert, campaigning in Indianapolis quoted Aeschylus from memory: “Even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God.”
I applaud everything you wrote, Sykes. Ted was a slime. The movie "Cappaquiddick" would have been a slam dunk indictment if the fat bastard hadn't died already. Bobby made a huge mistake prosecuting the Mob. Joe Sr. was crippled by the massive stroke and would have told his boys to stop trying to destroy the very men who put JFK in the White House in that squeaker of an election. The Chicago mob was identical to Joe's Boston mob and these guys did favors for each other. An excellent book to read is "Files on JFK." James Files delivered the headshot from the grassy knoll. Wikipedia calls him a "conspiracy theorist" so that's a big endorsement for the credibility of the tale he tells. After JFK was whacked Bobby proclaimed that he was probably the real target but removing JFK solved so many problems for those who had the most to profit. Also, read "the Man Who Killed JFK" by Roger Stone which connects so many dots, which has a photo of LBJ on the dust jacket.
JFK was nearly court-martialed for losing his boat in such a stupid way, run over by a slower, much less maneuverable ship. His heroics after losing his boat, and the Kennedy name, saved him from that. His actions before losing his boat were dumb, his actions afterwards were heroic.
