And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? You're correct, those are classic plates for the UK. An aluminium plate with black enamel looks sharp. Unfortunately the British govt mandated reflective white front and yellow rear plates in the 1980s. Al_in_Ottawa

Any vehicle over 40 years old in the UK is deemed historic and can wear black and silver plates like those in the picture.
