    1. You're correct, those are classic plates for the UK. An aluminium plate with black enamel looks sharp. Unfortunately the British govt mandated reflective white front and yellow rear plates in the 1980s.

    2. Any vehicle over 40 years old in the UK is deemed historic and can wear black and silver plates like those in the picture.
