And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Hey, pipe smoking is making a comeback. Fall down the rabbit hole on youtube to see artisans making new pipes (stunning works of art you can hold in your hand) and guys restoring "estate pipes". The comments are full of people "just getting started in the hobby" or "returning to the hobby" after a long time off. Watch a tutorial if you want to join what feels like a very subversive movement... there is more to it than it looks.
It's cheaper than cigar smoking, and feels less social and more contemplative. The residual smells are generally less strong, and more acceptable to others as an added bonus.
Hope the bears were off somewhere else; those don't look like good running shoes, and the pole isn't going to do much to discourage them if they show an interest.
