  2. Near as I can figure that's a late '55 to an early '57, but the 5 vertical bars in the grill have me stymied. Maybe one of the smart people here knows the answer to this mystery.

    1. It's a 56 or 57. The 55 was different. The bars in the grill are right but
      every other one has been removed. There should be nine. In 58-61 there
      were eleven.

  3. Hemings has a 'Vette of that era that was set up for racing. The teeth were removed probably for better cooling.

  4. Cooling was probably not the reason. A drag racer would have removed
    the whole bar and teeth to lighten the front end. This car has been lightly
    customized by also removing the bumpers and filling the mounting holes
    and removing the license plate bracket. Bought, traded and sold several
    sets that had been removed for that reason back in the day. Impossible
    to find now!
