And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? This might be fun. I should start a dojo for this here in Redding. Probably couldn't get anyone to write an insurance policy, though.
When my 30--year Air Force father was stationed in Japan (back in the late 50's), I was in junior high school and was able to continue judo that I had started in Hawaii a few years before ... and I got pretty good at it. I also got to watch Kendo fighting (with bamboo swords), and I loved it. I never got to practice it but would have probably enjoyed it immensely.
Look into HEMA.

ReplyDeleteSince you're in Redding, use garden rakes instead of them fancy bo staffs.
ReplyDeleteThe fighter on the left looks like they are wielding a naginata, not a sword. I don't know why he didn't get credit for the first head strike.
