And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Kim Yeji - now do that with a Ruger .45 Colt Bisley Revolver!
There is not that much to the head gear. Granted the guy from Turkey did not have any. Perhaps he has better vision and can shoot with both eyes open? So the black thing just covers the non-dominant eye. Allows you to shoot with both eyes open. The other thing is a diopter, sharpens up the sight picture. Just saying.
That's funny you'd suggest a Ruger Bisley. My favorite handgun is one of my first big-bore handguns -- a Ruger Bisley in 44 mag. And I would usually shoot it in that old-timey bullseye stance, when shooting from a distance. I think that came from watching a lot of westerns in my youth. And I would generally put that round right on what I was aiming at. I could hold it to about minute-of-pie-plate at 100 yards, and took a deer with it, back when I did that sort of thing. And that beast would be the first thing I'd reach for if I ever had an uninvited guest force his way into the house in the wee early hours. I think the almost right-angle grip of the Bisley is suited to the bullseye stance. Not sure if I ever put my off-hand in my pocket though.
Have you been to a shooting match in the US in the last 50 years? Most have a stock class because there is such an arms race in most every type of match. Shooters have been accessorizing their firearms for hundreds of years. Have them shoot randomly selected Ruger MKIIs from a box. For each round. Insert the evil villain laugh. Mike
I want to see them do this without all the head gear.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. They need to compete the same way the guy from Turkey did.

We do it everyday. I am not special. There are many who are competent to contend at the same level.
DeleteAbout $2400.

If you need that much gear... you can't shoot.

ReplyDeleteLet's see them in a shooting competition where the other side gets to shoot back...when it really, really matters.
ReplyDeleteI think she'd surprise all at the shooting range even without her Olympic accoutrements
ReplyDeleteExactly! Lot of arm chair shooters on this post. If it's sooooo easy, why aren't they doing it?
Delete100%
DeleteNot much of a fan of this...shooting competition type. TEHO I guess, but it seems artificial to me.
ReplyDeleteThis is the woman who collapsed at the press conference. Vax? Too many athletes going down in their prime.
