And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I worked in a shop at a fire camp back in the early '70s. A new guy came along who claimed to be a hot-shoe mechanic. They took him at his word and had him do a brake job on a crew bus, including honing and rebuilding the wheel cylinders. He got 'er done unsupervised in good time, but when the shop foreman went to back the bus out of the shop it had no bakes the first time he stepped on the pedal. Mr. Hot Shoe Mechanic had installed the cups in the wheel cylinders backwards.
Mr. Hot Shoe Mechanic found himself on a brush crew the next morning.
