And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Agreed about the tile (coal grate if I'm not mistaken), and the renovation of an early 20th century home or cottage was done nicely by that evidence. The bright brass clamshell reading light, floor accent lights, and macrame plant holder have a 70's vibe that works well with the chair. I would add a rug to warm the corner and protect against floor damage.
Oh I've smithed up my own comfortable corner here to do just that. There's no Eames chair, only a nice couch, but I can look out the back window and see Shasta (when it's clear) sixty air miles away, and an ugly bull pine behind the house that is a magnet for birds of prey. Ospreys, Bald Eagles, Red Tailed Hawks, they've all made an appearance or two. Not bad, but back to work tomorrow. Need that paycheck!
