And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I don't know why this particular photo triggered the question of: how often, or ever, does something attack your hand when you stick it into that crevice? I know that there are some spiders that attack movement near them, for instance.
Once I stuck my hand it a crack as I traversed a steep place and had a mouse charge out and run across my arm. Fortunately it didn't bite me and I held on. Wouldn't have fallen thousands of feet like Alex there, but I would have landed in a deep, rushing creek about ten feet below. Good times.
At one time, I had a subscription to Nat. Geographic and kept each and every issue. I must have had 240+ issues in my library. My last move, I kept about five issues and took the rest to several local old folks "rest homes" for them to read and enjoy.
I am guessing that maybe 10 years ago, I cancelled my subscription because it got funky.
He is doing that, . . . with no rope.
