And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
A classmate of mine bought a 79 J10 with the Honcho package when we graduated high school. It had the I-6 engine and AC. It was a tough 4x4. He had over 200k miles on it when the 6 cylinder spun a bearing and tuned the engine into garbage.
Had a 70 version (Kaiser/AMC) with a 400 engine back in the 80s that would out pull any other 4x4 I ran across. Never got stuck; pulled out many others that did. Trouble is/was - it only got 2 mpg out in the boonies.
Back in the day (hate that phrase, but it's where I spent most of my life! LOL) we sold a factory accessory package that turned the 8k version into a small wrecker, boom and all.
That is one beautiful ride!
ReplyDeleteYes it is. Put a stocked topper on it and get outta my way, I'm on the road again!
