The Arisen

  1. This is from a Jean Cocteau film, one of the Orphée films, and he is the young man who became Cocteau’s heir, or one of them, for he adopted the handsome young man. Cocteau had written a script with a character called Heurtebise in it, an uncommon name, and the person he was speaking with said it was not believable because the name was so rare. A young gardener was working nearby; they called him over and asked him his name. He was called Heurtebise. . . There are a number of these coincidences in the man’s life and work.
The handsome young Heurtebise and Cocteau became very close, as in lovers, and he even ended up in Cocteau’s films. - l say all this from memory. My Master’s thesis is along way in the past. . . They say it was the news of Piaf’s death that caused Cocteau’s last heart attack.
There is a book to be written about gardeners and the famous. Elizabeth Taylor found a gardener lover also, and there are others.

  2. I think that they call this technique as "reverse filming." He is actually leaving the rock and jumping into the water backwards.
