And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Oh, I don't know. I spent nine years looking at the world through the windshield of a '65 Kenworth. 350 Cummins, 5+4 transmissions, no A/C, Armstrong power steering, hauling logs into Oroville CA when it was pushing 115°. I can't say it was fun all the time but it was an experience I wouldn't trade for anything.
