  3. My cousin was killed by one of these, Darwin Harbour 1963. Came out of a steep dive and the wings broke off the heap of shit.

  5. What I wouldn't give to have that 4WD bubble-nose fifth wheel tractor parked in my front yard. Taking it for Sunday drives would be a complete blast.

  6. Is the lower tail number of the near F-86 indicative of a flight leader or squadron commander? Or is it likely the only surviving jet from the original deployment?
    Or am I just stupid?

    1. They were mix and match. They might have sent one back for maintenance, and gotten the older one as a replacement.
      Or the newer ones could all be replacements for earlier models that weren't so lucky.

  8. AS a kid drawing my stick figure humans I drew those jets. I still have them around here somewhere thanks to my late mom. She never tossed anything and all her kids have the same issue......
