And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Shelby was a racer for hire as were most drivers in the '50s. His most famous win was LeMans in '59 driving an Aston Martin with Roy Salvadori, defeating the best Ferrari by 217.88 miles. The Ferrari vs Ford rivalry didn't exist in the '50s when this pic was taken. In the '80s he worked for Chrysler, anyone else remember the Charger Shelby and Daytona Shelby from then? Al_in_Ottawa

ReplyDeleteIt's Carroll Shelby. Peter Collins died at 28, had straight blond hair.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe Shelby would be seen driving a Ferrari. Setting fire to one yes, driving not so much.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a Demolition Derby.
