And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Snowstorm. June 21st is the longest day of the year. Still no 100 degree days so far in Redding.
If Accuweather is right Redding will hit 100 on Friday and then won't hit it again 'til July 12th. It sure has been a wonderful year, between the abundant rainfall and cooler temperatures.
90 in London yesterday! I'm going to move back home.
This has been an AWFUL year: miserable weather from November through today. I live in Novato. Longest, coldest Winter and Spring I can remember and I've lived here 24 years. I'm still wearing long pants and a sweater.
BTW, I've lived in NorCal exactly three times as long as you have and I think this year is the best one weather-wise I've experienced in those 72 years.
Had some 90s here in western ny last week, only 60s for the last couple, finally getting some rain yesterday, tomorrow and thursday
ReplyDeleteA good soaking rain, we needed it.

I remember Redding having two seasons, fargin' hot and really cold.

Apparently, full reservoirs mean nothing to you.

Ice ages come and ice ages go, but they will come again someday
ReplyDeleteAnd when the next one arrives we won't have an intact carbon fuel infrastructure left to fall back on.
DeleteThose fools will kill us all.
