And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Looks to be about a 1974 vintage. Mine was a white 1969 that I bought used. It did not have the later side marker lights, so I added them. Also, a Weber carb, header, new coil suspension springs, 320i rims and rubber, and an Alpine stereo.
BMW 2002 'roundie' in Colorado Orange. In 1974 rectangular tail lights and rubber bumpers were introduced. Can't tell if it's a Tii without looking under the hood. Al_in_Ottawa
I concur that the '74 model year was first with the rectangular taillights and the revised and larger bumper style. Mine was Inka Orange -- a very cool color IMO. It had the Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection and I had a formula Ford engine shop in Maryland (Quicksilver Race Engines) blueprint and balance the motor. Later I had Miller and Norburn (2002 racers) in Raleigh Durham NC modify the suspension (springs, sway bars, shocks). Ultimately sold it to a lawyer from Michigan and lost track of it after that. I'll always remember the fun I had with that 2002Tii!
That is a 1971 2002 . I had one identical to it. My brother rolled it twice. Fun car. I also had a 68 1600, cam, duel webers etc. the 2002 was more fun. Tom
Let's see I had a '70 2002Ti, a '72 with dual 40DCOE side drafts and a '72 with a 32/36 DGV. All with headers, Mahle big comp pistons and Bilsteins, swaybars and lowering springs. Survived everything but the winter salt. Ate them from the ground up.

ReplyDeleteGood times.
Our CO in the army in germany had a 2002 in 1976 and the exhaust pipe exited in the center. I always remembered that.
DeleteI was stationed in a suburb of Nürnburg (Pinder Barracks) 1974 to 1977..
Delete2002 Tii? Could be 72-73 1800, looking at the chrome bumper (ended after 1973, rubber started in 74).

ReplyDeleteLooks like a Mid Century Single family home in Palm Springs. Maybe the Movie Colony area. Don't know much about the rust bucket in the driveway....
