And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Sometimes you have to let the ground freeze so you won't get stuck in the woodlot. On our farm my father felled the trees in the winter and we brought the wood in whenever time allowed between planting, haying, and harvesting. Sometimes we were still bringing it to the house in early December. Love those old Willys trucks. Al_in_Ottawa
Beautiful photo! Here in southern Colorado I like to gather wood when it is cold and the rattlesnakes have gone off to hibernate. I only burn about three cords per season, so we have enough non-snowy weather to get it done - prolly a lot easier for us than you good people up there in Ottawa.
