  1. A year newer than mine, which was the same color and had the twin saddle tanks also. Doors fit just as badly, too.

  2. Funny you mention the doors. On my '73, only a hint of a budge was required to squarely set the doors into the frame. Quietly too. This after trooping hill ans dale in sand, dirt, sometimes mud.

  3. I had a boss that had one as a hunting vehicle. It had just enough lift to clear 33's. He would break a rear axle every few years. He finally put a 9" Ford axle under it that solved the problem.

I'd love to have one of these old beauties, but alas, the "beautiful people" have discovered them as a bit of dé·clas·sé status symbol, so the prices have gone out of sight for mere plebes like me. Once they became a toy for the rich to show that they had "the common touch" they became mostly untouchable.
