And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Reminds me of the "Chainsaw Wars" of the 1970's where neighbors would buy the biggest and most powerful saws available to outdo each other. Picture a 1200cc Harley engine with a five foot bar and chains with teeth like Freddy Kruger's hands to prune a 6 foot tall ornamental Bartlett pear tree. Hell, bragging rights are an important thing.
