I much prefer the Crystal or Louisiana brand hot sauces, myself, and see more of those in restaurants in Acadiana than McIlhenny's. Your mileage may vary.
There was time when most – if not all – U.S. Marine Corps mess halls featured McIlhenny hot sauce as prominently as salt & pepper. Walter S. McIlhenny served as a Marine on active-reserve service from 1935-1959. He was twice decorated for gallantry on Guadalcanal in 1942. Among competitive shooting awards, he was recognized as a Distinguished Marksman. A "dinger". Advancing his grandfather’s recipe for hot pepper sauce, McIlhenny advanced McIlhenny Company from Avery Island, Louisiana to international prominence.
"Flavour"? Must be an export label.
