And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

A man should eat this or something like it once a week, between the salads.
Says the man that thinks that shredded steak and pulled pork looks like bugs. That's okay. It just means that there's more natural, carbon-based protein for me. I'm good with that.
Wow! This is insanely nutrient-dense all packed together like that. You feed these to those young bucks chopping firewood and they'll keep their strength all day. And they'll probably show up in the morning with axes... and friends!
The heart attack grill. Yum. I think that stuff is OK if you only indulge once a month or so, although I've never liked cheese on anything except pizza and not much of it then either. Whoever questioned why no mushrooms is spot on.
In South Philly you order a "Cheese Steak with" (or they pronounce it "wid") ... And that means grilled onions, grilled peppers, grilled mushrooms (pronounced "schrooms") ... and Cheese Wiz. Any of "yous" guys who never indulged in this amazing feast, don't prejudge it until you've had one.
In the late 70's/80's, there was a guy who started a sandwich shop in Mt. View, CA (Silicon Valley) that specialized in Philly Cheesesteaks. Couldn't get the taste right, and finally resorted to having the buns flown in from Philly. He guessed that it was something in the water that made the bread taste unique to that area. Business was so good, that he decided to open a normal sized restaurant to handle the crowds. Bad move, as he went bust with the increased overhead. John's Cheesesteaks? His sandwiches were as close as I've encountered in attempts to replicate that specialty in this area. I grew up near South Philly, so very familiar with them.
serve it with public school-grade toilet tissue
ReplyDeleteGul-Dang it. I just got done eating dinner and now I'm hungry again. Thanks a lot.

Bugs are carbon based like all other life on earth.
DeleteThen plug your gaping maw with them and STFU.
DeleteHaving lived in the Philadelphia area for a good part of my life, the cooking sequence is how Pat's and/or Geno's makes their "Filly Cheeze Steaks."
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't eat that in 10yrs.
ReplyDeleteMost folks eat them once every few months. It certainly will not kill a normal person.
DeleteRather have a bowl of coco puffs?
DeleteSure looks good!
ReplyDeleteIs that vegan?
ReplyDeleteUmmm -... cheese and red meat ... so good !! I'd like that recipe with substituting tortilla wraps, two - three for a lunch main dish.
ReplyDeleteLooks DELISHCIOUS, but why is my Cardiologist punching the air so vigorously ?
Yes, at least once a week.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice your mommy lets you have it.
