Magnificent is Correct

The magnificent Arch of Septimius Severus that stands, since 203 AD, in the Via Sacra, forum of Rome. It narrates the victory of the emperor and his sons, Antoninus (later called Caracalla) and Geta, in Parthia. After a bloody civil war for succession to the empire on the death of Commodus, Septimius Severus rises to power and founds the Severan dynasty. The monument that we see today of a characteristic stone color, in its day was polychrome (there are still traces of pigments) giving realism to the scenes of the reliefs.
