  1. I get an B-1 fixed wing vibe from this.

  2. Bit of personal trivia for you… my parents moved to DFW in 1965. My dad wanted some acreage and I remember going with him to look at two acres for sale outside of Grapevine. The guy selling them wanted $880 per acre and my dad said that was way too much for two acres of sand. Two or three years later and those two acres were bought by the airport project for $40,000!

  3. When I was stationed at NAS Dallas, a couple of us used to hunt jack rabbits on that land. I went to tech school with some folks that installed the unmanned trains that moved folks between terminals. State of the art at the time. My buddy's wife worked as an information person and doubled as a bus driver when the trains went down.

  4. Any connecting flight would always be on a different concourse. One of my least favorite airports.

    1. Indeed that is my least-favorite airport when having to catch a continuing flight...next to St. Louis. It seems I'm always changing concourses for the next flight.

  6. In 1975-76, I had a girlfriend that used to like to take a blanket and get close to the landing strips at DFW.

The roar, rush and lights of the landing aircraft was a definitive aid in her enjoyment of our activities
