  2. The Isle of Lewis chess pieces were dug up on this guy's farm back in 1831 and were carved in the 13th century. They're made from whale's teeth. I've got a copy of the set, one side is alabaster white and the other looks like green jade. They make a terrific set of pieces. The carving on the clothing is detailed to the max.
