And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Hobart, Tasmania, from on board a boat in Sullivans Cove, early 1900's
From January 1976 to December 1978 I was stationed on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) homeported in Alameda, California. In June 1977 we left on a 9 month Western Pacific cruise. Some time in November 1977 we sailed up the Derwent River to the lovely city of Hobart. Spent a fantastic week here. Even had the Enterprise's picture on labels for Cascade beer, the local brew.
That's a devil of a place.

ReplyDeleteThe above entry should read November 1976, not 1977.
