And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Makes one wonder what is buried under those Saharan sands
I met a traveller from an antique land, Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal, these words appear: My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Ground penetrating radar from both air and spacecraft show the following: old river beds, "organic formations" which proved to be reefs from ancient oceans as well as old forests (think Petrified Forest under sand), and more recently buried (within 2,000 years) oasis. These may be the "Lost Oasis of" ... what ever myth/legend you care to list. Personally, I'm hoping for the discovery of the "Lost Roman Legion." Or is that Legion still in Scotland? Syria?
then discover the great Cherokee/Chickasaw trade city that is supposed to be near the Natchez Trace road somewhere. Archeology nerds please please chime in but I even remember pyramid legends around here .... mounds are everywhere
