I've never seen a burger like these I post out in the "wild," but maybe someday I will.

  1. I suspect you need to be there for a commercial shoot.

  3. Now that's MY kinda burger.
    2 handed
grease running down both arms and dripping off your elbows, pooling on the floor for the mutt to mop up.
    I'll take 2 pleez!

  4. What Rob said, often the burger they take a picture of isn't a burger at all. Hot glue figures prominently, for instance. It's a whole art form.

  5. You're hanging out at the wrong places. You need to find a good honky-tonk. There's one near here with a wild game burger - boar, venison & elk.

  6. England of all places. Please tell me The Motherland hasn’t overshadowed The Colonies in burger domination? Upside is iff’n one finds themselves in Hereford, Shrewsbury, or Cheltenham you can at least get a good burger with a proper pint.

    1. I was working in the UK about 20 years ago. I was bouncing back and forth between Cheltenham and Wolverhampton, so the company put me up in Birmingham, since it was equally inconvenient to both places. I had a short term lease at an apartment about a quarter mile from Bullring, if you’re familiar. I had a very expensive “gourmet” burger at a downtown restaurant. After nearly an hour wait, it came out room temperature and covered with something called red currant jam. I took one bite and walked away. I’m sure there are places in Britain that make good burgers, but I never found one while I was there and the ones the locals thought were good were uniformly disappointing. The fish and chips are great, the curries are worth the transatlantic trip and I’ll put the full English breakfast up against nearly any meal, but the burgers…..not so much

  8. The "South 40" in Elbert, Colorado makes the BEST hamburgers (and elk burgers) in the world. Their Queso Burger on a pretzel roll is my favorite.

  12. We happen to live just a few miles from one of the top rated burger joints in the country. Burgers akin to that are their normal bill of fare. We do not go as often as I'd like because my wife prefers another place's onion rings.

  13. Isn't that the picture they used for the "Whammy Burger" in Falling Down?

I think we're supposed to take a big bite of what you get while thinking about the picture in the advertisement.
