  1. Way back in the day, I was about 8 years old, and my grandfather offered me his matchbook collection. I gladly accepted and began my own collection. I probably ended up with about ten or fifteen cigar boxes full of them. As an aside, my grandfather smoked cigars, so I had a good supply of boxes. I guess that when I went off to the USMC, my mother cleaned out my bedroom and tossed my collection because when I got back home and got ready to finish college, there was no match books to be found.

  3. 40 years ago we dined often at their very good restaurant - coffee shop. Even bowled a few lines. Still there on Venice Blvd. LA
