Your 1911 for a Saturday morning

  1. Almost looks like the old Black Talon ammo.

  2. I have a box of Talons each for 10mm & 45ACP. I paid $10 per at a gun show before they became a world threat. I'm saving them for special targets coming down the road from the Democrat diverse city next door. I can barely rack the 10mm any more.

  3. Dad was a 1911 fanatic. I was exposed to many different makes and calibers in my youth. A 1911 in 38 Super seamed to be the best round with the 9mm close behind. My current range gun is a Colt Government in 9mm.

  4. Looks like a Kimber. Can't quite read the slide.

  5. I have my grandfather's M-1911 that was manufactured in 1913. It is in great shape and sits next to my bed, "just in case."

  6. Beautiful. Now replace the full-length guide rod.

    1. Full length guide rods aren't "bad". With dual return springs, they can increase feeding reliability and reduce wear, cracked frames. I've always had a 1911 or seven since the mid 70's, so, I kinda like 'em.
