Although when I moved to Redding they told me it rarely snowed here in the winter. I've seen snowflakes every winter since, and there were two decent snowfalls last winter.
Which leads me to believe the interglacial warm period is over, and now the next ice age begins. Brace yourselves...
During interglacials, such as the present one, the climate warms and the tundra recedes polewards following the ice sheets. Forests return to areas that once supported tundra vegetation.
Speaking of the current weather. Bills-Steelers AFC Wild Card game in Buffalo postponed until Monday due to weather. Somewhere in Heaven Bart Starr is shaking his head and laughing his ass off
ReplyDeleteOverpaid over-hyped posers, haven’t seen a game in years, fug em all.
DeleteYou're right, Bogs. Isn't that the game that was played when it was -17 below?
DeleteIt was postponed because of the risk to fans getting to and from the stadium, not because of the playing conditions.
DeleteDon't worry, newsome will take care of it.
ReplyDeleteThere is no 'e' at the end of 'Newsom', and the first letter of his name is properly written with an upper case 'N'.
DeleteI hope this helps, wayn.
I always thought his name was Nuisance ;-)). - Nemo
DeleteHere in Texas several local businesses have announced they are closing down Mon-Tues, in anticipation of bad weather. This really has me shaking my head, this over-weening, female-driven hand-wringing safety-ism. F*ck me, I can figure out if it's safe to proceed, thanks. Just get your ass to the liquor store and make sure it's open for business, on time, and same for the grocery and gas station.
ReplyDeleteHere in Colorado Springs, the wind chill it's -30 degrees. The snow from a week ago is still on the ground.
ReplyDeleteMilankovich cycles and solar cycles combined = climate change. Anyone thinking that paying out more money to .gov is going to change things is seriously delusional.
ReplyDeleteThe last glaciation got zapped by something extraterrestrial... The Younger Dryas events. Lots of evidence.
