And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My first car was a 1963 Falcon convertible. Well used, it had Fairlane bucket seats and center console, the 170 six, and a Fenton floor shifter that had been hacked into the floor. The steering box was so loose I called it Lurch, but I loved that car. My heart still races when I see one in person or in a photo. Thanks!
Around '72, I bought a~10 y. o. Falcon convertible. Factory 6/4spd! Needed a top and engine, IIRC. Bought it for the 4spd trans, and after pulling it, discovered it wouldn't fit a small block v8. Typical Ford engineering, sigh... Wasted effort, off to the junkyard, as no place to store it.
Palm Springs has the largest concentration of mid-century architecture in the world!

DeleteThe smog from L.A. used to roll in over Beaumont Pass, so it's nice to see a blue sky.
