And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I do not know what model or year of that automobile but this morning I saw a large truck with a very similar car in the truck bed, driving down the road.
Our camping rig when I was a kid was a '53 Merc with a MercCruiser transmission with overdrive. It was always a thrill when Dad "shoved 'er on down into overdrive".
Yeah, my brother and I were easily amused. Great memories of those trips with Dad.
My Dad had one! Black and shiny and Huge! I was only around 8 ot 10 years old 48 Chevy Fleetmaster! Got pics of it somwheres LOL! All my Dads trucks and Cars were black!
Almost the same as the 47-48 Chevy. Fender extensions are longer and gas filler is on opposite side and under lid. Buick and Pontiac were both very similar those years. Bubbarust

ReplyDeleteOn their way to Ollie Hopnoodle’s Haven of Bliss?
ReplyDeleteRead that Jean Shepherd piece years ago in a Playboy Magazine ( which I only bought for the articles - of course ). Funny as hell......

ReplyDeleteWhen cars and bumpers were sturdy.
ReplyDeleteI think the hood ornament indicates a Pontiac.
