And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Here in the Yakima Valley, we get an average of 8" of rain yearly. I bought my place here years before I moved permanently from Seattle a few years ago. Obviously, every home in Seattle has rain gutters. Here, though, about 3 years after buying, a rainstorm came along. I heard water splattering outside the windows and thought the gutters must have overflowed. Come to think of it, I did not recall ever cleaning them. So, I went out to look and by gum, NO gutters! Lots of homes here do not have them; just not enough rain to worry about it. I did install a run that passes over the back door and storm hatch into the basement, about half the back of the house, but that is all.
What a waste. That fireplace should be in the middle of the house, where the rocks would radiate heat for hours, long after the fire had burned down. Stupid rich people showing off how stupid they are, Look at me look at me and my awesome outdoor fireplace !!!!!
Sadly, what I see are a lot of cushions and pillows to be brought in at night and furniture to be covered.
ReplyDeleteThat's what the hired help is for
DeleteStart with the fireplace, build the house around it. A great spot to relax.
ReplyDeleteNo rain gutters?
