Barn Treasure

  1. A Series 1 E-Type. They're on sale in the UK for up to GBP160,000 ($200,000USD) so it's definitely worth restoring.

    1. I think I see rust. If so, there will be lots more waiting to surprise you.

  2. Dave Gardner said, "When you're old, you don't want to be rocking on the porch saying, 'I coulda'" or words to that effect, it's been a while. That's me for not buying an E-type when I coulda back in about 1970.

  3. There are barn finds out there. I saw a 66 Mustang GT350 in an old chicken barn yesterday. It was missing the motor and transmission but it looked like it was prepped for a long term storage and was rust free. The guy that owned it said it had been his uncle's who blew the engine. The engine and tranny were lost in a machine shop that went under. He has had it for 15 years but it was initially put into storage in the early 80's.

  4. We had the ‘69 XKE 2+2 in British racing green… that was when I was a kid and we drove 500 miles for a fishing trip and I was in the back seat… no game pad or phone… it was awesome.

  5. I'm beginning to wonder about all these, "barn finds", . . . that keep showing up on the internet, . . . the dust seems the same shade and color, . . . even the barn features are very close, . . . if not identical, . . .
