And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

With all that glass the heating bill must be enormous
Intriguing design…assuming they have no close neighbors…being on display, albeit this was likely done for the photo, is not the best design option. FLW used large windows in the living spaces to bring the inside out and the outside in as a way to connect the two, which makes a small place (eg. Seth Peterson Cottage) feel much larger and live well. Sometimes more is too much.
Who the hell wants their life on display at all hours of the day and night? I much prefer good solid walls, and the thicker and more solid the better. I'd live in an Ammo Bunker if I could find one nearby.
If they're heating with wood, as the two stacks seem to indicate, they better have more than just a couple of cords worth.

ReplyDeleteTriple pane glass can have a huge R rating, esspecially with a an "E" class membrane to disrupt radiant loss.

I'd rather have fiberglass insulation.
DeleteThis much glass facing south can actually lower your heating bills.
ReplyDeleteBird killing & I ain't cleaning all that.

ReplyDeleteLots of snow on the ground, but a dusting on the roof. And part of the roof appears to be translucent paneling. Methinks heating cost is incidental.

ReplyDeleteYou REALLY don't want lots of glass walls if they aren't multiple layers, especially if you have winters. BT;DT. Do NOT recommend...
