Very nice, but I'm guessing the winters there might be severe.

  1. Curious as to why rain gutters extend past the house fascia. Do they drain well past the faces of the walls, which without rain leaders would be a good idea.

A bit too open for me, especially with adjacent houses so close. I'd have the shades drawn all the time.

    1. I’m guessing that they extend past the wood deck, and simple discharge onto the rocks. Eliminates downspouts and makes for a cleaner appearance. Not much concern with erosion in that case.

    2. I’m thinking that is one property, not close neighbors.

    1. That's what I think when I see these lovely remote homes: where do they get their water and where does the poop go?

  5. Composting toilets. Rain water into a cistern.

Please, define "severe". Looks like heaven to me. Cold weather is a good excuse to stay under the covers a little longer with my hubby.

  7. Same property, you can see a ramp running from the lower platform up to the higher one. Not sure why, as it makes snow a problem. Might just be for non-winter use.
