  1. I ran a saw in a machine shop cutting aluminum blanks prior to machining. So boring I quit after 6 weeks. Plus it was a cheap outfit.

  3. I think the term used in the trade is "slitting".

  4. It's called a "Sliter". I use to pick up the finished product banded at the end of the line up in my overhead crane. Fun times.

  5. I lied about my age in high school and when I was sixteen I applied for a job at Fullerton Metal Company in Northbrook Illinois for a summer job and I became a slitter operator. I think I was making $3.50/ hour.

  7. Roll formers are way more interesting than splitters. Spin forming is also a wonder to watch.
