And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've said it many times: The right gun for large bears is either .50BMG, or whatever you can place comfortably just behind your own ear before it gets to you.
I saw a black bear in south GA rage on a late 70's Firebird. It took a swipe at the front fender and it's claws pealed the fender open. The black bears in GA are on the small end of the bear spectrum. I give bears a wide birth.
My uncle was a game warden in East Tennessee from the early 60s until the late ‘90s. He had lots of crazy stories about bears, but the moral of every one was to leave them alone.
Really? Take a look at his arm''. It's bent, not straight as it would be with classic perspective manipulation. Also, look at his hands in comparison with the paw. If it's a Kodiak grizzly it could weigh up to 1,500 lbs-no trickery needed there! In other words, it's just a huge bear! -JLM
As a young lad growing up we lived on the edge of the Everglades Southwest of Miami in the 60s. We would catch gators all day long, but Dad said "Son, ya see a Black Bear ya leave him alone and back off!" We saw enuff damage they would do to the camps out in the Big Cypress that we heeded Dads warning! We just messed with Gators and Snakes!

There's no in-between.
Exactly! Sound advice, best to control one’s destiny when confronted with a massive dilemma that will certainly lead to a painful and messy death.
