And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If I post a less expensive knife like you reference, I hear a host of derisive "Chinesium" comments. At least this one is US made, but the cost reflects that. Support your neighbors, or support the commies. Your choice in a free country.
We Americans are a fickle lot. As our host said, we slam the Far East 'cheap' products, never acknowledging that knives are rarely pushed to their extremes. I'm a confirmed knifeaholic and own quite a few budget and high cost knives. Super steels notwithstanding, not everyone needs a $100 plus knife for their office environment EDC needs.
But it is nice to be able to draw out a high performance tool to admire and use. Just in case.
I was issued a auto Benchmade that was a "military only" handle design when I was sent to Afghanistan in 02. It became my daily carry. It is a great knife but I can't see paying that much for a knife.
I've been trying hard to destroy my $30 Kershaw Leek blems. Hard to justify this deal.

The Leek is US made btw.
DeleteI don't buy Kershaw's Chinese offerings.
DeleteAw, heck. I could lose them easy. I once lost a pair of fence pliers that had orange handles in the short grass before. They never did turn up.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think the voles run off with stuff like that as soon as it hits the ground just to screw with my mind.
voles, hell, i've got "garage gremlins" that would make your voles look like amateurs when it comes to tool loss !
DeleteI can't buy Benchmade any more. They are anti-gun. That also makes them un-Amercican.
ReplyDeleteReally?

Yeah, left-coast leftards. But I must confess the blades I have are sharp. Won't buy another.

ReplyDeleteAlmost bought an orange knife. Then I realized my knife was half use, half self defense and realized I didn’t want to broadcast it in my hand
