  3. Scale effect. Gravity being a square function disallows animals with exoskeletons from getting too big because their internals would collapse. Having said all that, out of my collection I would try the Marlin .45-70 guide gun with Buffalo Bore Dangerous Game solid rounds.

  4. A brain shot would do the trick. But only if giant ants had brains and only if they were big enough to hit while the shooter is under pressure.

    1. Their brains aren't big enough to hit. But for the record, the brain is at the base of their conical eyes in the center of the head. Aim there with a shotgun through an eye, which is softer than the exoskeleton. Then knock off their antennae and they likely couldn't find you.
